The final artist in our collaboration with @60” is Moroccan born, Miriam Cabessa, who currently lives and works out of her studio in Brooklyn. She’s well-known for her physical style of painting – rather than using the traditional brush, Cabessa utilizes her hands and other objects to create abstract pieces that are a record of her movement. Cabessa’s artwork is in the permanent collections of the Israel Museum, Tel Aviv Museum of Art, the National Museum of Women in the Arts and Hafia Museum of Modern Art.
The second artist selected in the Tibi x @60” Collaboration is Vincent Edmond Louis, who currently resides in London. Always looking to push the boundaries of traditional photography, Vincent manipulates his images through paint, proportion, or text in attempts to add another dimension. An avid traveler, Vincent continues to be inspired by new frontiers and different cultures. He has exhibited all over the world, including New York, Paris, New Delhi, Monaco, and Mumbai, and his work is in many prestigious private collections.
Amy has selected three emerging artists from a curated group of talent represented by online art dealer, @60inches’, to create an original work inspired by Tibi’s Pre-Fall 14 collection. Get to know each artist through our one-on-one Spotlights, starting with Brooklyn native, Jason Varone. Jason combines technology and traditional technique to execute his unique style of ‘video painting’. His artwork has been exhibited in many venues including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The Boston Center for the Arts, The British Film Institute, The International Center of Photography and Art in General in New York City.
